Some of our successful community projects and events include:
INVOLVEMENT 2008
This event brings hundreds of non-profit organizations from across the SFV together in an expo-type-setting with SFV residents looking for volunteer opportunities. Non-profit organizations are able to showcase their services and connect with prospective volunteers to build lasting, meaningful relationships. Attendees are encouraged to find ways to get involved in their community.
This event has won the SFV Jaycees a "Top Impact Project Award" from the California Jaycees organization two years in a row (since the project's inception).
The SFV Jaycees has also partnered with several local community organizations to provide service and leadership expertise. Some of these organizations include:
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (Pacoima Build)
WEST VALLEY BOYS & GIRLS CLUB (West Valley Location Refurbishment)
THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY (Relay For Life)
VALLEY VILLAGE (annual Showtime! event)
THE MID-VALLEY YMCA (Healthy Kids Day; Fundraisers)
VALLEY INTERFAITH COUNCIL/COUNCIL DISTRICT 12 (Citrus Sunday)
COUNCIL DISTRICT 12 (Porter Ranch Tree Planting)
CHILD CARE RESOURCE CENTER (Miguel Montes School Beautification)
POLICE ACTIVITY LEAGUE SUPPORTERS (Holiday Toy Drive)
OPERATION GRATITUDE (Packages for the troops)
WENDY GREUEL, COUNCIL DISTRICT 2 (Adopt-A-Wall Graffitti Clean-Up)
In a very short period of time, the SFV Jaycees has shown the San Fernando Valley that its members are truly committed to making their community a better place to live and work.
New projects are always in development. In fact, members are encouraged to share their ideas. The organization offers a supportive, team-driven environment in which these passions for community development are converted into real, conceivable, impactful projects.
